About Pauline

Pauline McNamee lives in County Offaly. She is a writer, Spoken Word performance poet, post-primary English and history teacher and writing workshop facilitator. She is also a Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Timeline Therapy practitioner and a licensed facilitator of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers. She holds a first-class honours MA in Writing from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She is a recipient of Maynooth University's John and Pat Hume Doctoral Scholarship Award. Combining narrative and arts-based research methodologies, her doctoral research will examine how post-primary teachers’ relationship to writing shapes their teaching of writing. Pauline is a registered member of the Irish Teaching Council. Pauline facilitates creative and educational workshops for children, teenagers and adults in venues throughout Ireland.

 

Her poetry and non-fiction have been published in Ireland, the UK and the US. She was a finalist in the 2018 Cúirt International Festival of Literature Spoken Word Platform. She has been short-listed for the Fish Short Story Competition and long-listed for the Fish Poetry Competition. Her novel was shortlisted in the fiction category of the 2018 Over The Edge New Writer of the Year competition. She is currently completing her first novel and compiling her first poetry collection.
